How to clear your browser's cache

A website may sometimes feel faster after you load it for the first time... this is called caching.

If a website is updated, you may need to clear the cache to see the changes immediately.

I have put together some steps on how you can clear your cache (assuming you have the latest versions of the browsers mentioned below).

Google Chrome (Desktop) on Windows/Mac
  • Click the 3 dots in the top right corner.
  • Click on More tools.
  • Click on Clear browsing data....
  • Under the Basic tab, make sure the Time range is set to All time.
  • Make sure Cached images and files is checked.
  • Click on Clear data.
Microsoft Edge (Desktop) on Windows/Mac
  • Click the 3 dots in the top right corner.
  • Click on Settings.
  • Under Clear browsing data, click on Choose what to clear.
  • Make sure Cached data and files is checked.
  • Click on Clear.
Firefox (Desktop) on Windows/Mac
  • Click the 3 lines in the top right corner.
  • Click on Library.
  • Click on History.
  • Click on Clear Recent History....
  • Make sure the Time range to clear is set to All time.
  • Make sure Cache is checked.
  • Click on Clear Now.
Google Chrome (Mobile) on Android/iOS
  • Click the 3 dots in the corner.
  • Click on Settings.
  • Click on Privacy.
  • Click on Clear Browsing Data.
  • Make sure the Time Range is set to All time.
  • Make sure Cached Images and Files is checked.
  • Click on Clear Browsing Data.
Safari (Mobile) on iOS
  • Go to the Settings app.
  • Click on the Safari option.
  • Click on Clear History and Website Data.
  • Click on Clear History and Data.
Firefox (Mobile) on iOS
  • Click the 3 lines in the corner.
  • Click on Settings.
  • Click on Data Management.
  • Make sure Cache is switched on.
  • Click on Clear Private Data.
  • Click on OK.
Firefox (Mobile) on Android
  • Click the 3 lines in the corner.
  • Click on Settings.
  • Click on Clear private data.
  • Make sure Cache is checked.
  • Click on CLEAR DATA.
